The Lion & the Mouse
1. Read the text and discuss with your classmate. Later, You have to do a different final as the title ‘’If I was the little mouse, I would ….’’
“Spare me!” prayed the poor Mouse. “Please let me go and some day I will surely repay you.”
The Lion was much amused to think that a Mouse could ever help him. But he was generous and finally let the Mouse go.
Some days later, while stalking his prey in the forest, the Lion was caught in the toils of a hunter’s net. Unable to free himself, he filled the forest with his angry roaring. The Mouse knew the voice and quickly found the Lion fighting in the net. Running to one of the great ropes that bound him, she gnawed it until it parted, and soon the Lion was free.
“You laughed when I said I would repay you,” said the Mouse. “Now you see that even a Mouse can help a Lion.”

Interesting Online support to hear and to see:
Previously to this lesson, we had already teach some seasons to be familiarised with the animal kingdoms.
1) In the first exercise, if they don’t discuss or they don’t know how or what to discuss, the teacher has to guide the discussion by asking questions to make them think about it. For example: ‘’In the mouse´s situation, Would you have done the same as it?’’ ‘’ Do you think it was a good idea to help the lion?’’
In this exercise, we are leading the pupils to read an interesting text, because it is based on a store, that make them feel good with the reading and makes this activity more motivational. Also, when they have finished the text, we can talk all togheter about this funny and educational story. Later, working in pairs to stimulate the cooperative working, they will have to invent a new final for the reading. This means that first we are working reading (individual reading and the collective reading alter) and then we can work the speaking all togheter, and finally we work the writing appearance by cooperative working.
2) Here, we want the students work togheter to find the correct answer. Teacher don´t have to give them the answer but he has to guide them to find it. To do that, we can provide the pupils freedom to look for the answer in the dictionary or in google translate. The teacher what is doing with that is to provide scaffolding to his pupils.
3) In this exercise, what the teacher wants is to provide vocabulary to his pupils. It is necessary to do a meaningful learning, and is for that reason why we have put images of famous cartoons instead the real animals. They have to know animal´s names and the sounds they do.
Previously to this lesson, we will have taught the animal kingdoms.
PRE OR POST- ACTIVITIES:
1) Invent a story at home in wich you have to include some of the animals that We have Studied.
2) To search in enciclopedia or internet to get some new information about the animal the teacher has said to each one.
3) Guessing the animal. Teacher gives some information about characteristics of an animal and the students have to guess the correct animal.
4) Go to visit the zoo. Once we had seen the whole animal unit, we can make a tour visiting the zoo in our city.
